December 27, 2024
Each year, I select a Word of the Year to guide my focus and intentions both personally and professionally. As the Executive Director at Vitalia Stow in Stow, Ohio, the start of a new year is the perfect time to reset, refocus, and prepare for new challenges and opportunities. Reflecting on 2024, I am amazed at how my Word of the Year influenced my journey, shaping both leadership and growth.
The Word of the Year for 2024 was adaptable. Collaboratively chosen by our department head team, this word represented our commitment to embracing change, fostering growth, and staying vigilant in our leadership roles.
Adaptability guided our decisions and strengthened relationships while driving growth throughout the year. By keeping flexibility at the forefront, we improved decision-making processes and cultivated empathy in our interactions. Together, we faced ever-changing circumstances with resilience, overcame challenges, and seized new opportunities as a unified team.
The lessons from adaptability have created a strong foundation for continued progress. This focus taught us to remain open to change and prepared us to tackle obstacles head-on.
For 2025, my Word of the Year is elevate. Building on the adaptability we cultivated, this word reflects our goal to enhance the services we provide, rise above challenges, and exceed expectations. Elevation represents our commitment to delivering excellence through what we call the “black-tie effect.” A dedication to superior service and attention to detail.
This year, our focus is on professional growth, both individually and as a team, to solidify our expertise and leadership in our respective areas. By striving for higher standards, we aim to create a thriving environment for our residents, families, and team members.
As 2025 approaches, I reflect on the lessons of 2024 and look forward to stepping into a new chapter guided by elevate. Choosing a Word of the Year isn’t about having all the answers. It’s about setting an intention and remaining open to the journey it inspires.
What will your Word of the Year be for 2025? Here’s to a year filled with purpose, growth, and meaningful moments. If you’re ready to thrive in a supportive and innovative community, consider joining us at Vitalia Stow.
We are always looking for passionate individuals to join our team.
