Vitalia Senior Residences at Stow Spreads the Word of the Year

Every year Arrow’s personal and professional development coach, Michael Buckley, asks everyone to pick a “Word of the Year.” The goal is to look inward and consider what we each need more of and what might improve our lives. Sometimes we need more focus or clarity. Sometimes we need more compassion. Sometimes we just need more fun!

Picking a word for both me and my community is a commitment to doing work on yourself and the “we” and “us” work we want to do as a community.

Looking back on 2022, my favorite memories were resident services getting the residents to socialize and be more active when they were coming into the community, memory care getting the routine together as a team and succeeding in family style dining, and sales being a full team to help residents into the community. In our operations world, our biggest success was getting our grand piano up and playing every day, residents and families enjoy it so much! Wellness grew professionally with our nurses and expanded their knowledge to the team. Plant operations did a fabulous job with completing TELS in a timely manner to help the residents with their to-do list. 

Now, looking forward to 2023, what Vitalia Senior Residences at Stow needs is teamwork. It takes teamwork to succeed in each department. Our department heads believe in the power of a chuckle, but yet take our positions seriously to make sure our residents are well cared for, and families are happy with us. “Teamwork makes the dreamwork,” this is our 2023 motto for Vitalia Stow.

What is YOUR WORD? I hope you will pick one too. What does your life need a little more of in 2023? What does “future you” thank you for working on now? Our words are meant to inspire us. If it is not inspiring, it’s not the right word.
