Even with all the technological conveniences of today such as social media and websites, it is still common to meet individuals with a skewed perception of what senior living looks like. In this blog, I want to share my senior living journey, why I remain committed to the industry, the biggest myth I believe exists, and how to help others overcome the myths surrounding our beautiful Vitalia Stow community and services.

With nearly 20 years of experience in recreational therapy and activity direction for older adults, I sought an elevated career path. This path would leverage my skills and knowledge within the senior living industry. I am grateful for Arrow Senior Living’s “promote from within” policy, which entrusted me with the role of Executive Director to lead our community.

Every day, I witness the positive impact I have on the lives of our residents. Whether it’s bringing a smile to someone’s face or alleviating a burden from their day, each small success is meaningful to me. As an Executive Director, I fulfill multiple roles throughout the day. This includes contributing to the well-being and happiness of our community members.

Dispelling Misconceptions: Redefining Senior Living as a Vibrant and Independent Lifestyle

One of the greatest myths surrounding senior living is the misconception that it’s primarily for the ill or older adults without family support. Senior living offers an opportunity for individuals to maintain independence and thrive during their retirement years. There are countless meaningful experiences awaiting them in this golden season of life.

Release any stigma and rely on our team for the best senior living experience. Many liken Vitalia to a cruise ship on land, with me as its captain. We reassure families that entrusting their loved ones to us allows them to resume their roles as family members rather than caregivers.
