My choice as the most useful technology for seniors with hearing loss would be the Safe Awake Smoke Alarm Aid with Bed Shaker. The Safe Awake works with your existing smoke alarm system, triggering all your senses with a motorized bed shaker, a flashing light, and a low-frequency, high decibel square wave sound. This is useful for those with hearing loss who may live alone and are unable to hear the standard smoke alarm, especially in the middle of the night.
There are multiple technology options geared toward seniors with hearing loss that allows them to remain independent longer. These technologies can help improve communication for seniors by allowing them to better communicate with everyone, including those who may not understand hearing loss or deafness. For our residents with hearing loss, new technology has improved their lives, allowing them to remain as independent as possible, and to better communicate with everyone.
