Redefining dignity for residents with dementia.
Helping care for a family member who is suffering from Alzheimer’s or other memory problems is one of the most challenging things a person can do. Then, even when you decide to seek help, trusting someone to care for your loved one can be just as daunting a prospect. At VITALIA®, our staff is trained to provide quality personalized care so you can step back from being the caregiver and start to be a daughter, son, or other loved one again.
By focusing on dignity, quality of life, and independence, we strive to ensure all residents feel respected and cared for as they age.
Memory Care Apartments
At VITALIA®, safety doesn’t mean confinement. Instead, it is about the balance between residents having a private space to call their own while also being a part of the daily activity throughout the community. Our apartments were designed with seniors in mind, ensuring simple and immediate access to all the necessities of life.

Assigned Life Enrichment Coordinators
Memory Care begins with strong relationships. We pair Life Enrichment Coordinators with a resident, so that trust can build. Better trust means better communication and understanding, which leads to quality care.
We believe the best kind of security is as invisible as possible. We never want residents to feel monitored, so we make every effort to integrate resident safety systems in discreet ways. Have the peace of mind that residents don’t ever need to feel locked in or cooped up.
Specialized activity stations, called Life Stations™, are placed throughout our Memory Care cottage to promote engagement opportunities for residents. These are created to elicit memories of important aspects of life, drawing residents’ attention and promote a sense of purpose. Our Life Enrichment Coordinators also create life boxes that are specific to Memory Care residents!
It can sometimes seem like the only solution is to limit and restrict the senior’s activity. But VITALIA® has the means to do the difficult tasks to get residents re-engaged with life.
One undeniably difficult symptom of memory loss is the toll it takes on diet. Utilizing and engaging all five senses, VITALIA® has developed methods for exciting the appetite and helping residents re-connect with their love of food.
Alzheimer’s and other dementias can make once automatic grooming habits seem impossible. At The Fremont, we believe that residents should have the dignity we all take for granted – looking and feeling presentable. In addition to assuring that every resident enjoys the daily care of combing, brushing, and makeup, we include a weekly visit to our salon at no additional cost.
Life Enrichment Coordinators learn how to implement exceptional care techniques in order to provide the best resident care.
It is important when providing care for those with Alzheimer’s and dementia to be equipped with proven effective techniques, not to mention a drive to care for those in need. We are proud to say that our leadership has those tools in spades.
